What to do when you stumble upon a great "find" but it's missing an important facet of function? Totally improvise! That's exactly what I did when I picked up this great dresser that was suppose to have 9 drawers, but only had 8 :-/
...and the top was less than ideal...
...so I started filling in all the scratches...added some epoxy here and there...and then got blessed by my sweet, football playin', artsie 10 year old that "wanted" to get in on the "fun"...so he helped me patch up all the areas needing attention...
...and leave it to me to "fix" the bent drawer pull...
(JB WELD worked perfectly the next day)
...so how did I solve the missing drawer dilemma???
...I opted to remove another drawer from the other side to balance things out. I was initially hoping that I could remove one of the top drawers from both sides, but unfortantly the top drawers are smaller than the middle and bottom...so I thought the middle section was the best choice to leave vacant. I added beadboard to line the insides and create cubies and then finished the whole piece in black...did ya ever even know that there were suppose to be 9 drawers? :)
...bonus to this dresser??? ...it came WITH this super cute mirror! Score!

Do You Like Apples?
...how do you like this apple?!
...imagine a nursery awaiting a baby boy's arrival...donned in grey and green with accents of black. Or a baby girl's room with red and pink and green with beadboard and crown molding...just imagine this piece hiding extra diapers behind the two bottom doors while baby blankets and smell good lotions sit inside baskets in the top section...ahhhh...to have a baby again... :)
...i need a new camera...any suggestions???
...i'm horrible about taking "before" pictures...

Beautiful in Black
I love this dresser more than I can possibly express in writing. As a matter of fact, I have one just like this in RED at the end of my hallway (someday I should do a "home tour", huh?) Fortunately for me, so did several woman shopping online for one! I feel bad when more than one person wants a piece "real bad" and tells me how "perfectly it will work"...ahhhh! Stress me out!!! I must produce another one soon...and I just so happen to have one in waiting...
Oh Happy Friday!!!

Miss Kenley --->>>
My friend Sarah really helped me to get back into the painting mood...she became pregnant! ...that kinda sounded like it was spontaneous combustion, didn't it? ha! Anyway, so she needed a dresser/changing table for her baby girl's nursery. I just so happened to have exactly what she needed...and in turn, her need fed my need to get back to work at one of my favorite things...I truly love repurposing, upcycling, redoing "stuff"...it just makes me happy!
...this was my gift to baby kenley...
...super cute baby shower for Sarah...
...a couple of extra cutie patootie things...

Sometimes I Surprise Myself!
I might have been on a hiatus for a while, but I'm back and lovin' all my makeovers more than ev-a! I'm gonna start off with a before and after that I surprised myself on!
I've had this sofa table for quite some time when a friend of mine called asking if I might have a piece for her new home...the entry way. I said Sure Do! So she brought me a pillow and initially I thought I was going to paint this boring table an aqua green...but I just wasn't "feelin'" it...see what you think about my feelings by the end of the project... (imagine me clapping very quickly with a big ole smile on my face!)
