Antique Wardrobe & Antique Buffet

Antique Wardrobe, oh how I love you...
This piece was sorta given to me by a friend of a friend who just wanted it out of the way...um...OK!! Beautiful piece...great curves and grooves and oh didn't I do a good job of finishing her out?! Luv it!
...it's really a "buttery mustard" flavor...um color...need a new camera!! this leg picture really captures it best...

Here we have an antique buffet that I've had in my house for a while. I was in love with it so much that when the house remodel was near its end, I moved this buffet to the end of the hallway as a gage for lighting and I never moved it out. Unfortunately I never finished it all the way...I wasn't planning on selling it, so why finish it, right? Well, I found a different piece that I like better, so this sweet buffet got moved out...and look how wonderful she turned out once I was on a mission?! Love it! Do I move her back into the house again? As of right now, she's FOR SALE.

I've been workin' really hard lately to get my storage unit (garage) less "project-ized" - new word for the day- So get ready because you will be seeing LOTS of new things on here in the next few weeks! Are you ready? Can you handle it? I know I am...I've got ideas and the pieces to unleash them on...

Tasty Turquoise

I've been asked for "before and after" pics...so here goes...

I can't seem to get away from this color...luv it!

***BEFORE***

***AFTER***

Tulsa Designer Showcase

A fun-time lady named Robyn called me to help her out on piece that she had for the Tulsa Designer Showcase. In case you don't know what that is...similar to myself...it's a mansion in Tulsa that all the posh designers come together to decorate their own rooms in the mansion and then the public comes thru to view them...along with several parties that place there during the 6 week or so viewing time...proceeds going to TPS. So Robyn had this fireplace mantle that was a little boring...glossy cream...and it needed a little sprucing up...so she called me! Me? Really? Yep...me! I originally planned on painting it black...but the magic started to happen as I was stripping away the layers...see what you think...

***BEFORE***

***AFTER***

And since I helped her out with the mantle...Robyn let me add a couple pieces of my own to the show...up for sale I might add...WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY!
Here's my first piece that I took...Black Hutch...

Here's my second piece...fun-time side table...

***Follow up*** Robyn called to let me know that everyone luvvvved the mantle, luvvved her room design, which was the cafe and the opening night party was a hit!

MARVELOUS MIRROR

I found this great mirror and knew the potential behind the glossy cream finish despite the awful gold fleck. So here's a before and after of a piece that I knew was destined to stay in my own house...

Here's the before...altho not the "before-before", cuz I sorta started on it then remembered to take pictures...and nevermind Obi-Won in the reflection...he's just on the ceiling for protection...uh, long story...

And here's the after...ahhh...I luv it!

Wow! Look at Me...

I've been posted on someone's blog...yeah! How excited I am! Here are final pictures of all the Pink items that I posted back in January...they have found a home to a cute little girl named Maddy....I luv it! Thanks for the pictures Dee!

How delicious does this vanity look with the vintage gold mirror..ahhh! luvss it!

...and the bed!! Ahhhh...the bed...cute gold arrangement above...awesome quilt...made by Maddy's Momma, Dee...check her out at Bubbachic

Dee tied the room all together with great buys of a pink topper over white curtains...add some quilt patches and wa-la! Great room redo and surprise!

ALSO...I got another great "feel good" email today from Kelly...the lady that bought one of my favorite pieces...the turquoise dresser...I added her email below just because it made me smile so big...

I LOVE THIS DRESSER. Thanks so much! I keep sitting on the bed staring at it like it's going to do a little dance or something. LOVE it! I am definitely going to bring you the mirror to be painted the same color--I think that will really tie in the piece. And I have another dresser I'd like you to do once I get it fixed and working again--may be a few months before I can get it fixed. Let me know when I can drop off the chest though and I'll scrounge up someone to help me load it up.

Best,
Kelly

...sound like I might have more "after" pictures to share pretty soon...

I've been up to some good...check out this "oh-so-awesome" piece of turquoise heaven...can you say Texas Junkyard Girl...only I'm not from Texas!

AND...I slowed it down and went back with white on a couple of pieces. I had a few requests from some ladies, so here they are.

Welcome Back to Me!!

I haven't posted in a while, but the fever is back and I'm ready for some nice weather...I've got a garage full of projects to finish and I'm antsy! I took full advantage of some of our "warm" 45 degree weather in the last two weekends and this is what I came up with...take a look and let me know what you think...

How about this great curved leg dresser...I knew I wanted to do some design on top and the stripes just fell outta the paint can! Luuuuuuvs it!

Ok, the mustard yellow dresser speaks for itself...but people...how about those curtains?! Those were quite the feat! Ok, ok... (hey...I need to do a before and after of my crafty room, huh? I'll do that asap!)

I have no girls...what can I say?! I luv to do pink! This "vanity" is a bit of a combination...I added the back scrolly piece and the beadboard to the underneath...so much fun to create!

Don'tcha hate it when you get a blurry picture...ugh..oh well...the black vanity is cute tho...right?!
